Michele Affidato women's earrings from the Apotropaica collection. 925 silver earrings depicting the Stater coin, diameter 1.40 cm. Reference: OR-AP-000457
The earrings, made with the lost wax casting technique and handcrafted, depict “The Stater”, a coin from ancient Kroton from the Magna Graecia period 510-490 BC. The stater depicts the Tripod, which in ancient Magna Graecia was a three-legged container, which was placed on the fire to heat water. Tripods were offered as gifts to gods, guests and victorious athletes.
